Livery...

We offer full livery for your horses/ponies. Blue Moon management is resident on the property to ensure 24/7 supervision and that all day to day stable management is adhered to by a knowledgeable, experienced and caring team.

Livery includes hay, concentrates, bedding, grooming (including hoof care ~ Blue Moon supplies the hoof oil which is applied regularly), and riding facilities (2 schooling arenas, jumping area, lunge ring, outrides). The stables are secured within the building, offering all year round protection from the elements and as well as lovely big paddocks for the horses to enjoy during the day.

If you are interested in stabling your horse or would like to visit the premises, please feel free to contact us.

Lessons...

Riding lessons for children and adults are offered at the following levels:

Prelim/Beginners
These lessons focus on becoming familiar with the movements of the horse/pony and learning to feel comfortable in the saddle. Many exercises are introduced and riders can expect to learn to walk, trot and canter on the lead rein, before being encouraged to ride alone.
Lead rein classes are available to all ages.

Novice
The novice rider should be able to ride "off the lead rein" and will progress to learning the basic figures and shapes ridden in the dressage arena. It is recommended that the rider is able to walk, trot and canter at this stage. Basic show jumps will be introduced to help learn distances, turning and maintaining a consistent rhythm.

Intermediate
Intermediate level riders should be confident in their ability to effectively control the horse/pony at all times and have some knowledge of riding "figures" in the dressage arena in all three paces. At this level the rider will be introduced to "lateral work" and the process of training the horse and rider to compete at shows.
At this level the rider can expect the level of jumping to increase as specific types of fences are introduced (e.g. the combination, etc.)

Advanced
This level aims to teach those riders who want to compete or concentrate on the finer details of training and horsemanship. Riders should have a sound riding background and the confidence to push themselves further! Riders should expect the technical difficulty to increase and to learn the art of classical training. Show jumping instruction will include learning to jump a complete course.

All lessons can be private or in groups

In addition to lessons we offer training and schooling for your horse. Bring your horse to our yard and let us help you find solutions to your schooling problems. We are happy to offer full livery for this training option for the duration of your horseís stay away with us. We encourage the rider/owner to join in the schooling and training by having regular lessons on your own horse so that you both leave with the feeling that an effective and co-operative partnership has been created.
